Tiger Balm

I have version of the white tiger balm product, commonly sold in stores such as Boots the chemists. However, the bottle of tiger balm I have, was procured in Goa – India, and its instructions differ slightly from the UK counterpart.

The instructions read:

Ayurvedic proprietry medicine Tiger Balm – White

For the symptomatic fast and effective relief from headaches, stuffy nose, insect bite, itchiness, muscular aches and pains, sprains and flatulence!

Apply Tiger Balm gently on the affected area

I’m intrigued that it cures flatulence, but given its properties and exothermic effect, I am fearfull of trying it. I’m almost certain that smearing clove, mint and cinnamon oil on your back passage, no matter how gently, is not going to be a soothing experience.

Hotmail

I have been a hotmail user since its inception, I normally use it in Exclusive mode. This means that anything not in my safe list or contacts is automatically sent to the Junk folder. Today I hit my limit on the safe senders list. Interesting I hear you say, but aha! The limit is 250 safe senders! Why so small Hotmail? Surely the whole point of exclusive mode is you can totally tune who gets into your inbox, seems strange to limit the safe senders at all considering you have a 5GB limit on the mailbox size. Come on Hotmail, fix this for me.

Santa

On the way to work this morning, driving on Caversham Road in Reading, towards Caversham Bridge, I saw my first Santa decoration, a large lit-up 8ft Santa model on the top of a Hotel porch.

Is that early? Is that normal? When does your town start putting up decorations?

Amarok

Amarok is a cool music player for Linux, one of its features is the ability to tell you how long it would take to listen to all your music in the catalog, if you listened non-stop. My meager collection would currently take 5 whole weeks to listen to back-to-back. I’m quite happy with that :D Ironically though I tend to listen almost exclusively to about 2% of my whole collection. I must be getting old as I tend to load up the .m3u or playlists of the albums I want to hear. I don’t like using catalog or media library methods to interact with my music. I tend to drag the playlists or songs that I want straight into the players play list. I don’t use randon or shuffle…Guess that’s just me.

Momentous

A momentous thing happened to me last week as I was driving home from work. I hit the 10,000miles mark! Its an occasion for me since this car is my first car. I’ve driven in others peoples car, but it feels momentous now I’ve hit that milestone by myself. The car came with showroom miles of 13miles on the clock.

The other momentous thing that happened is that I discovered grey/silver bristles on my chin, after carefull examination I determined that they were my own hairs, and not somethin inadvertantly stuck there. So, it appears that it wasn’t a freak, they keep growing back. A salt and pepper beard it is then, that or shave scrupulously so that no-one notices.
